School Age Program
The School Age program meets the needs of 82 children ages 5-12 years old who attend local public schools. At our West Town location, teachers from Onward House pick children up from both Mitchell and Talcott schools.
The School Age Program is a state subsidized program that provides children opportunities that foster independence, positive language skills, teach social and team building skills as well as expose children to a variety of activities that promote creativity as well as improve academic skills. Weekly activities include cooking, arts and crafts, computer literacy and sports. Children also attend field trips on a regular basis which include trips to museums, zoos, roller skating, bowling and water parks.
