School Age Program
The School Age program meets the needs of 142 children ages 5-12 years old who attend local public schools. At our West Town location, teachers from Onward House pick children up from both Mitchell and Talcott schools. At our Belmont Cragin location, teachers pick up children from Schubert.
The School Age Program is a state subsidized program that provides children opportunities that foster independence, positive language skills, teach social and team building skills as well as expose children to a variety of activities that promote creativity as well as improve academic skills. Weekly activities include cooking, arts and crafts, computer literacy and sports. Children also attend field trips on a regular basis which include trips to museums, zoos, roller skating, bowling and water parks.
