Partnership Program
The goal of the Onward Neighborhood House Head Start Partnership Program is to collaborate with privately owned licensed child care providers to offer accessible comprehensive Head Start services such as: child development, health, mental health, support for children with disabilities, nutrition and social services to low-income children and their families in communities with limited to no access to these services.
Recognizing families' needs for quality and accessible programs for their children, and as the needs of families change, a Head Start Partnership is one way Onward Neighborhood House is meeting the goal of providing comprehensive full-day services to families where the parents are working or in training, experiencing scheduling and transportation problems, inadequate child care, and other barriers.
The Onward Neighborhood House Head Start Partnership Program serves 134 children between the ages of 3 to 5 years old in five privately owned and licensed child care centers on Chicago's westside.
